Sivaganga, Perambalur school dropouts to be provided education till plus two

Joseph Xavier, state Project Coordinator, said, Sivaganga and Perambalur districts have been chosen for implementation of the scheme to provide education to school dropouts.

Under the Project, those who had dropped out for reasons beyond their control would be identfied and admitted to schools and provided education till they completed Plus two. All of them would be admitted before December 2012.
 
An NGO from Australia was assisting the programme for students in the age group between six and 14 with a view to eradicate illiteracy, he said.
 
Teachers of schools had been advised to ensure that the students did not stop their education midway for any reason. Odisha and Tamil Nadu had been chosen for implementation of the scheme.
 
He said five opinion makers had been selected in the districts to identify dropouts and persuade them to renew their education. A report would be sent to International teachers forum and Australian education Union,he said.
