Skill development firm Aspire said it aims to impart different employability skills to about 10 lakh students across the country in the next ten years.
The Gurgaon-based firm has trained over 52,000 students in the last five years across 16 states and 80 institutions, the company said in a statement.
"Aspires long term goal is to train 10 lakh students by 2022," it said.
The government is also stressing on the need for skill development mainly for MSME sector. The government has set an ambitious target for upgrading the skills of 500 million people by 2022.
India's demographic dividend needs to be nurtured to create a vast pool of skilled manpower as a vital resource for all economic endeavours, it said.
MSMEs would be in great need of a talented pool of young people both as potential entrepreneurs and as skilled workers.
It said that employability skills include training people in English language, communication skills, personality development and industry, managerial and leadership skills.
The firm has recently bestowed with social entrepreneurship award 'John P McNulty prize'.
In partnership with US-based iCarnegie institute, Aspire provides schools, colleges and universities in India an industry-focused curriculum.
Further, it said that the company also aims at training 20,000 faculty members by 2022.
