Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav felicitated toppers of high school and intermediate examinations conducted by Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad at his official residence here.
Speaking on the occasion, Akhilesh said, "nothing could be attained in life without hardwork and those sitting here must have worked very hard at one time in their lives".
The chief minister said that on the eve of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, people should take a lesson on the path of simplicity, truth and non-violence.
Meanwhile, SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav while blessing the students said that they should take resolve to continue with their good work.
Basic Education Minister Ram Govind Chaudhary said that such felicitation function would boost the morale of the students, their parents and teachers.
The first three toppers were presented with cheques worth Rs one lakh, Rs 50,000 and Rs 30,000 each respectively.
