Aiming to provide an opportunity for the students community to compete globally, SRM University has signed an agreement with the Indian Society for Technical Education, a Delhi-based, professional, non-profit organisation.
SRM University, Director (Research) professor D Narayana Rao told reporters, after signing the agreement with ISTE, "This serves as a forum where they (students) can publish their papers and research publications. Students will have a great advantage of publishing their papers and also read works of other students (from anywhere in the world)".
Giving details about the agreement, he said through this initiative, "we are jointly planning to publish five international journals on civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical, electronics and communication engineering and computer science engineering".
"We are the first university to have this kind of collaboration with ISTE. It would be published every quarter. We are trying to put in our efforts to maintain high quality (in the journal)", he said.
The first International journal on all the streams would be released by December 2012. The initial expenditure would be Rs 30 lakh a year and it would be borne by SRM University, he added.
