Scholarship for college students

Chennai: Scholarship worth 5 Crores for outstanding students has been proposed by Vel Tech Dr. RR & Dr. SR Technical University.

The Vel Tech Dr. RR & Dr. SR Technical University has proposed to award Mahatma Gandhi National Scholarships worth Rs.5 crore to students, its Vice-Chancellor Rangarajan Mahalakshmi K. announced.

According to the scheme, top three applicants from every State in India will receive 100 per cent tuition fee waiver, besides being entitled for free boarding and hostel facilities for four years.

Further more, 50 per cent tuition fee concession are provided to top 100 students securing admission in the university, with a minimum 90 per cent aggregate in mathematics, physics and chemistry in the Class XII board examinations.

Students interested to join the college could download the application form from the university website and apply for the course of their choice before April 20.

Candidates need to forward a certified copy of their mark sheet after the Class XII examination results are declared.
