Haryana government clarifies powers and functions of BEOs

The Haryana government has issued notification clarifying powers and  functions of newly created post of Block Education Officers' working in the state.
 
The Haryana school education department issued the notification, a spokesman of the department said.
 
After creation of the post of Block Elementary Education Officer-cum-Block Resource Coordinator, BEOs would deal with establishment matters of all teaching and non-teaching staff working in the senior secondary schools, he said.
 
They would forward the matter to concerned District Education Officers (DEOs) if required, as per procedures and rules and directions issued from time to time.
 
They would deal with all commission and court matters and assist the concerned DEOs and higher authorities in proper and effective defence of various court cases pertaining to Secondary Education Department.
 
The BEOs would function as State Public Information Officer under Right to Information Act. They would be the Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO) pertaining to all grievances and complaints related to Senior Secondary schools.
 
They would deal with the matters pertaining to recognised and aided private schools and recognised and un-aided private schools at Senior Secondary Level.
