PM inaugurate South Indian Performing Arts Museum in the state

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will visit Kerala Kalamandalam Deemed University for Art and Culture at nearby Cheruthuruthy on September 12.
 
During his visit, he will inaugurate South Indian Performing Arts Museum, State Minister for Cultural Affairs, K C Joseph said.
 
Thereafter, Singh would witness performances by artistes, Joseph and University Vice-Chancellor P N Suresh told reporters here.
 
The museum, built over 40,000 sq ft as per traditional Kerala architecture at a cost of Rs eight crore, would have collections of documents relating to folklore arts of South India, digital library, facilities for research and different types of performing arts, Suresh said.
 
Singh would be the fourth Prime Minister to visit the Kerala Kalamandalam, the others being Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and V P Singh.
