A group of engineering students of Amity School of Engineering and Technology have designed a state-of-the-art racing car which was put on display at the institution's campus.
"It is the fourth in the chain of innovative cars and prototypes designed and developed by the engineering students of Amity," the university's spokesperson, Savita Mehta, said. The first three were India's First Tri-Fuel Amity Hybrid Prototype Car, 4WD Amity BAJA Vehicle and Amity Suitcase Car.
Named the 'Amity Formula 1 Race Car,' it will compete for the title in the 'SUPRA SAE INDIA 2012 Formula-1 Type Race Car' at Buddh International Circuit from September 6-9.
60 colleges have been selected for the competition, Mehta said, adding that the car passed inspection by a team of SAE (Society for Automotive Engineering) Collegiate Club of ASET and Maruti Suzuki last month.
