Tiruchi: Before the end of this year, satellite-linked automatic weather stations would be placed in 224 blocks of the State, Vice-Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University P. Murugesa Boopathy said on Tuesday.
Admitting the delay in installation of the stations under the first phase, he said that while the equipment was ready, the problem was in finalising locations.
'The University will get in touch with the collectors to get things done,' the Vice-Chancellor said addressing a press conference.
In the second phase, such stations that facilitate the implementation of weather-based crop-insurance scheme would be installed in the rest of the 161 blocks
