The Central Board of Secondary Edcuation (CBSE) had introduced an international version of its current curriculum from this academic session. The CBSE-i is meant for those students who wish to study abroad after Std XII and its curriculum promises to provide a smooth transition for students. However, the board has ensured that even if students decide to continue studies in India, they will not face problems with universities regarding recognition of the CBSE-i board exam.
The Association of Indian Universities ( AIU) has granted approval to the CBSE-i Std XII board exams and students passing out can take admissions in any bachelor's degree course. This approval was always considered a mere formality since the CBSE is a government body functioning under the HRD ministry.
