Annual conference of Indian Society of Aerospace Medicine from August 31 to september 2

Indian Society of Aerospace Medicine will be holding its annual conference from August 31 to September two at the Institute of Aerospace Medicine here, the only institution providing post-graduation education in Aerospace in South East Asia.

The conference with the theme “Enhancing Aircrew Combat Potential”, will be a melting pot of research conducted by IAM as well as on the flight line at various air force bases across the country, it said.
   
A large foreign participation is also expected. Issues that will be discussed include flight safety, acceleration physiology, high altitude physiology, long duration flying, flying clothing and human spaceflight.
    
The conference will be inaugurated by Air Marshal D C Kumaria, Vice Chief of Air Staff. Many senior officers of the IAF, Army and Navy will be present, in addition to 250 delegates. The conference will have a number of guest lectures and orations.
    
The prestigious Air Marshal Subroto Mukherji Memorial Oration will be delivered by former President A P J Abdul Kalam.
     
The Air Vice Marshal Sriganesh Memorial Oration will be delivered by Dr Steve Harridge, Director, Centre of Human and Aerospace Physiological Sciences, Kings College London. One guest lecture on Aerospace Safety will be delivered by Air Marshal A P Garud, Director General Inspection and Safety, Indian Air Force, it was stated.
