A two-day symposium in Advancing Chemical Sciences, is being organized at IGNOU Regional Centre here from August 31.
The Royal Society of Chemistry based in the UK is one of the oldest Chemical Societies in the world and it is sponsoring the two-day symposium in collaboration with IGNOU Regional Centre Nagpur, Institute of Science and Department of Chemistry, RTM Nagpur University,a release from IGNOU said today.
Eminent experts from Premier Institutes of the country like IIT Mumbai, IIT Chennai, TIFR Mumbai, IISC Bangalore, NCL Pune, IISER Pune and Bhopal will deliver lectures on latest topics in Chemistry. The topics range from multi-dimensional NMR to Nano Chemistry to biomaterials, according to Dr Pivaswaroop, Convener of the Symposium and Regional Director.
L J Paliwal, Head of the Department of Chemistry, RTM Nagpur University said the main objective of the symposium is that the PG students and Research Scholars should get exposure to the latest topics in chemistry and get on opportunity to interact with the experts. It can lead to collaboration with the premier Institutes of the country.
Dr. Rashmi Batra, from Department of Chemistry, Institute of Science said that this is an extension of International Year of Chemistry activity.
She said that students need to be attracted to pure Sciences and this is an attempt in this direction, the release added.
