XLRI campus in Delhi will come up by 2014 with 120 seats capacity

The much-awaited campus of XLRI in Delhi will come up by 2014, its director E Abraham SJ said here on Saturday. In addition to this, the institution is also starting with its full time MBA with foreign universities partnership.

"The Delhi campus will come up by 2014 with a capacity of 120 seats. The place is next to Gurgaon. Both the business management and the human resource management will have 60 seats each," he said. He was here in the unveiling ceremony of the XLRI logo. This is the second logo of the institution since inception in 1949. The new logo has been designed by Water, the strategic business unit of Mudra India.

The Delhi campus will be the third campus of the institution after Jamshedpur and Dubai.

He also added that the institution is starting its first ever Global MBA Programme in partnerships with Weatherhead School of Management of Case Western University Cleveland, USA and School of Economics & Management of Tongji University Shanghai, China. The new full time two-year residential global MBA programme will commence from June 2013. The programme will be held in three parts, one third each in Jamshedpur, Shanghai and Cleveland and will be taught by faculty of all these three B Schools. This two-year programme with a capacity of 60 students will have 20 students each from India, China and the US.

The Jamshedpur campus is being expanded to accommodate another 120 seats. It now has capacity of 120 seats each for business management and human resource management and another 120 for the fifteen-month programme. Both the Delhi and the Jamshedpur campuses will entail expenses of around Rs 60 crore, which is completely done through internal accruals.
