Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has appealed to teachers to work relentlessly towards imparting quality education to tribal students.
"Tribal students lag behind in education. They need quality education to be in the mainstream," Reddy said here.
He was speaking to reporters after interacting with the students of Malli shelter house run by the state government.
Later, he visited Kaguvada village in Pathapatnam Mandal and interacted with weavers there and stated that loans to the tune of Rs 95 crore distributed through 1900 societies has been waived, while Rs 200 crore has been earmarked in the budget (2012-13) for welfare of weavers.
The chief minister said that he would appeal to Centre to increase the number of minimum days required under MNREGS to 150 days from current 100 days.
