The state government of Tripura has decided to set up an ayurvedic and homoeopathic college besides a dental college in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode.
Health Minister Tapan Chakraborty said, "The central government has sanctioned Rs. 18 crore for building Ayurvedic and Homeopathic Colleges, but we need more money."
The state government had earlier decided to set up three colleges and invited for expression of interests, he said.
The ayurvedic college will be set up at Udaipur in Gomati district, the homeopathic college at Kailasahar in North Tripura district and the Dental college in Agartala, he said.
With the founding of three more colleges in the state, the total number of such institutions will rise to five in the state.
Tripura already has two medical colleges Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) and Tripura Medical College (TMC).
