Residential school for students from poor families

A residential school for dropouts from poor families has been set up for the first time in South Assam's Cachar district.
 
The school, under Sarvasiksha Mission, has the capacity to house 100 students for whom stay and education will be provided free of cost, the mission's district officier Krishna Roy has said.
 
The school, which was formally inaugurated by the Cachar deputy commissioner Harendra Kumar Dev Mahanta, will be a model school.
 
Silchar MLA Susmita Dev was also present on the occasion.
