Bharathiyar University professor invited for OER seminar in Paris

Prof N Balasubramanian, Head, Department of Education, School of Distance Education, of Bharathiyar University has been invited as a representative of India Region in the Open Seminar and Exhibition on Open Education Resource (OER) to be held in Paris from June 21.He has been invited to particpate to network and discuss the art of OER in the University and India during the two-day seminar, a university release said today.

The objectives of the programme were to showcase the world about practices in OER policies, initiation and expertise and to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the 2002 UNESCO Forum that created the term 'OER,' it said.

The programme will bring together ministers of education, decision makers responsible for human resource development, senior policy makers, experts, practitioners, researchers and relevant stakeholders to discuss 'what will work and what will not work,' the release added.
