NIPS School of Hotel Management is the first institute from eastern India to be associated with the Government of India, ministry of tourism for the ‘Hunar Se Rozgar Tak’ training programme. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed between authorities of ITDC and NIPS at the NIPS Campus at Mahisbathan.
Niraj Bachkheti, vice president, HRD, Ashoke Institute, Priya Meena, assistant manager, Ashoke Institute and Monimoy Bhattachariyya, GM, ITDC were present for the MOU signing.
The programme is for the underprivileged youth who have been unable to pursue their career beyond a point due to constraints. It is designed to aid imparting of specialised professional skills for an ever-expanding industry with numerous job openings at basic levels.
The programme is targeted at those who are minimum Class X pass with English as a subject and belong to the age group of 18 to 28 years. The courses offered will be: a six-week full-time course in food & beverage service along with housekeeping, and an eight-week full-time course in food production.
Each course will emphasise on improving the trainee’s behaviour and attitude in order to enhance their market acceptability, besides imparting basic technical skills pertaining to the trade.
Recipient of Best Hotel Management College of Kolkata from Brands Academy, Education Excellence Award 2011 & 2012, NIPS School of Hotel Management has been recognised as the Best Hotel Management Institute of Eastern India by Competition Success Review, 2012. The Institute has made its way to the Limca Book of Records, India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records recently and is widely renowned for its quality placement record.
