Through Make a Difference (MAD), a non -profit organisation, college students are spending two hours every week by imparting knowledge to the tiny tots. MAD volunteer Reshma Sharma, a law student of NUALS says, "This is unlike the boring classroom in school, here it is learning with fun."
The volunteers have to undergo training before the classes.
"It feels good to know that you made a difference. In the end, you feel satisfied that students have gained knowledge," adds Reshma.
Cherian Jacob, a student from St Albert's College has been a volunteer with MAD for the past five years and is heading the Core team in Cochin City.
"It is really amazing to be a part of this initiative. These children show so much of affection. They have the potential to do a lot but they lack opportunities.
One of our students at MAD got a scholarship from the US for higher studies as well," adds Cherian.
