As part of the 3rd annual celebrations of “Brundavanam” (Telugu Samithi), the G.D.Birla Memorial Lecture Series was started at the BITS, Pilani – Hyderabad campus with a thought-provoking lecture by the Kukatpally MLA and Lok Satta founder, Jayaprakash Narayan.
Mr. Narayan spoke about G.D. Birla's association with Mahatma Gandhi and his contribution to Indian politics and industry.
He covered a wide range of topics including various aspects of Indian Culture, the Freedom Movement, the Indian Economy (Past and Present) and the role of youth in sustaining Indian culture and contributing to the economic development of the country.
He said that when individuals place nation's needs above their personal needs, nations can truly develop.
K. Nageswar, Member of the Legislative Council of Andhra Pradesh highlighted the relevance of research and development in the current Indian context. Both speakers stressed the role of youth in the nation's over-all development and the importance of youth working in the right direction to achieve their goals. Film producer and Dada Saheb Phalke Awardee, D.Ramanaidu was felicitated on the occasion.
