New Delhi: Another petition challenging the recent hike of tuition and development fees by two schools run by the IAF Educational Society has been filed by the parents' association before the Delhi High Court.
Filing a petition through counsel Ashok Aggarwal, the Delhi Abhibhavak Mahasangh(parents' body) alleged the schools -Airforce Nursery School and Airforce Junior School run by Indian Air Force Benevolent Cultural and Educational Society, have failed to comply with the High Court's May 28 directions before hiking the fee.
The parents' body said that as per the High Court's interim order, the schools were asked to file an affidavit in the court stating that if the court's final order goes in favour of parents, then the schools would return the excess amount which they have charged from the students.
Without complying with the order, the Airforce Nursery school has issued the fee slip in the first week of July 2009 increasing tuition fees from Rs 475 to 1000 per month and Airforce Junior School has increased the fee from Rs 435 to 1100 per month, the petitioner stated.
'As per the interim order of the court, the hike could not be raised beyond Rs 575 per month and Rs 535 per month respectively,' the petitioner added.
The High Court will hear the petition tomorrow.
