New Delhi: The Centre has plans to develop medical device cluster near Ahmedabad and bring National Centre for Excellence on Medical Devices (NCEMD) at the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), a top official said
Ashok Kumar, Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, Government of India, said the government has got a pre-feasibility study conducted on developing medical device green field cluster near Ahmedabad by IL&FS.
The move is expected to boost the existing two billion dollar market of medical devices in India and create skilled workforce of around 500,000 technicians, researchers and scientists in the next one decade for which NIPER will be the resource, Kumar said.
