Education Minister Geeta Bhukkal said, all class rooms of Aarohi Schools in Haryana would be converted into 'Smart Class Rooms' from the next academic session. The class rooms would be equipped with computers, projectors and Green Boards.
'Aarohi Schools' were set up in each of the 36 Educationally Backward Blocks (EBBs) since July 2011 and the process for teacher recruitment and construction of school buildings was in progress, she said. These schools are now functioning from other schools of the villages, and is soon expected to shift to their newly constructed premises next year, she said.
The Minister also said that these schools would become the trend setters in their neighbourhood both in respect of infrastructure and quality of education in the coming years.
She said, "the students would be given special training on improving pronunciation capability in English language at the start of the session. They would also be imparted computer training to improve their skills as per the need of the changing times".
The minister said,that to boost the education of girls, the government had decided to establish a residential school for girls under the `Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya Scheme' in each Educationally Backward Block. Nine such schools were already functional and in the remaining 27 blocks they would be made functional during the next financial year. It was also proposed to establish a girls hostel near each Aarohi Model School next year.
The Minister furter said that Aarohi schools were located in 36 Educationally Backward Blocks of ten districts in Panipat, Palwal, Mewat, Fatehabad, Mehendergarh, Kaithal, Jind, Hisar, Bhiwani and Sirsa.
