UAE students to work on energy, water projects

Associate Dean for Research, Masdar Institute of Science and Technology,Dr Scott Kennedy, and students of the Energy and Poverty Solutions Course will be in Varanasi from March 24-30 as part of a field trip to address important energy and development challenges for this region.

The projects are being developed in consultation with local non-governmental organisation who have vast experience in the region, which is expected to benefit more than 2000 people in three different communities in the district.

The Human Welfare Association, an NGO and Husk Power Systems, an energy company that works on biomass gasification based-power systems in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar were consulted while choosing the communities in Varanasi.
