Subsidized tuition fee and quality education are the factors that seem to influence students opt for universities in Scandinavian countries. Many students, who are planning to pursue higher education abroad, are of late opting for universities in Scandinavian countries.

Srikar Alapati, Managing Director of GlobalTree Educational Services Private Limited, which launched its third branch at Himayathnagar in the city says, over the last couple of years there is considerable increase in the number of students applying for Germany, Norway, Sweden, Austria and other countries. Most universities in these countries offer free education to students, who have excellent academic record.

There are many universities that are ranked among the best for pursuing mechanical, electronics, telecommunication, automobile engineering etc and that’s the reason, many students are opting for Scandinavian countries, he explains.
Universities are very careful in giving admissions. IELTS and TOEFL scores are a must and in addition to this, there are many aspects like number of backlogs that determine the admission chances, he says.

Since education is free most universities restrict students from taking up part-time jobs. And it is always good for students to learn the local language for communication, informs Mr. Alapati.

Later, a counselling session was organised for students to help them understand the admission requirements and other formalities. Experts from different fields addressed the students and advised them about different issues.
