Demand for Medical College in Chandrapur

Setting up of a medical college in Chandrapur is the need of the hour according to the local MP Mr. Hansraj Ahir as the district has the highest number of cases of Sickle cell anemia and thalassemia.
 
"I have been following up the issue with Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad since June 2010 and he has assured of looking into the matter in his official correspondence," the MP said.

He said that Indian Medical Education and Research Institute, Mumbai representatives had collected various data in respect of the existing facilities in the Civil Hospital here, during their recent visit.
