Government to launch new improved Aakash Tablet

The government plans to manufacture new Aakash tablets, as, according to the additional secretary in the ministry of human resources development , Mr. N.K.Sinha, there were complaints about the Aakash tablet being slow, difficult to operate and the touchscreen being resistive.

The new version according to him will have better battery back up and the processor speed will be increased to 700-800 Mhz. the screen will also be changed. He further stated that a tender will be floated in a couple of months and within six months of floating of the tender 50000 units of cheapest tablets will be manufactured priced at Rs. 2226.
