Plymouth University scouting for tie-ups with Indian varsities

Describing India as a major partner in the field of education, a British university is looking for tie-ups with varsities and institutes here for sharing of learning and faculty resources.

A delegation from the University of Plymouth which was here last week held a series of meetings with officials on areas of curriculum development, curriculum implementation and assessment.
 
A MoU has already been signed as per the partnership programme with Kaziranga University of Assam on February 6, Vice-Chancellor of Plymouth University Bill Rammell said.
 
He said the agreement is committed to deliver an outstanding student experience.
 
According to Rammell, the varsity, ranked as one of the top in UK, was also exploring links with industry based in Hyderabad and institutes based in Vishakapatnam, Pune, Delhi and Bhubaneswar.
 
With 30,000 students, the Plymouth University is the ninth largest in UK and in its 150th year, will be presented with the Queen's Anniversary Prize for Higher Education in respect of its legacy in marine and maritime work.
 
Currently, a sizable number of foreign students in its campus are from India.
 
The Vice-Chancellor indicated agreements with Indian technical institutes are also on the cards.
