Krishnagiri: Students after completion of technical courses must desire to become job providers not job seekers, said N. Jayapalan.
Speaking at the Valedictory function of, 'Employable Skill Development Training for Youth 2008-09 at the Kingsley Community Centre at Kandhikuppam, near Krishnagiri Mr. Jayapalan , Joint Director (Industries), District Industrial Centre said 'Many educated persons feel that they were incompetent. The best way to get over this is to start own industrial unit.'
Both the state and central governments provide various opportunities to the youth to set up tiny and small scale industries with various lucrative incentives such as subsidy on capital, arranging loan facility through nationalised banks, tax holiday, rebate in power tariff, export-import training on single window basis.
As the DIC acts as an agency between the entrepreneur and the government and nationalised banks to get various kinds of benefits, the youth need not run from pillar to post to get approvals, licences, power connection and other incentives, Mr. Jayapalan said.
Later, he distributed certificates to 143 students, who have completed employability training in tailoring, four-wheeler driving, mobile repair/servicing and computer operations.
In addition to the employability training, the centre taught basic life skills, communication skills, general knowledge, spoken English and personality development programmes by the experts from the respective fields.
