Project Management Institute (PMI) has announced its call for research funding proposals for 2013. The call for proposals will open on February 1 and close on April 25. Those advancing to the second round will be notified by July 2012. All grant recipients will be notified of awards up to US$ 50,000 by November 2012. Funded projects will begin from January 1, 2013.
PMI will encourage proposals on research involving multi-disciplinary teams of investigators or teams consisting of academics and practitioners, who bring new ways of thinking and related bodies of literature to the field. Proposed research must have a direct application to any aspect of the project management body of knowledge or its practice.
PMIs academic resources department annually solicits research proposals on any topic related to project, programme, or portfolio management, with funding provided to selected recipients. The organisation looks for proposals from scholars both within and outside project management, including management, organisational psychology, sociology of formal organisations, education, linguistics and others.
PMI has sponsored research projects since 1997. Since then, many of these projects have become research monographs, articles and white papers. Current and enduring research materials are available to PMI members at no cost. Interested candidates may contact the PMI research coordinator with questions about this opportunity at [email protected]
