Dr. M. Rajani, Director of Research & Development at Bharath University recently bagged an award of excellence in the Institute for the Development of Excellence in Assessment (IDEAL), a highly prestigious program assessment plan in ABET, USA.
She was one of 37 participants who partook in the program held in Charleston, South Carolina from 3rd January 2012 to 6th January 2012 and the only representative from India.
Dr Rajani is recognized as the first women from India to be an ABET IDEAL scholar in the development of excellence in assessment of accreditation process.
The Institute for the Development of Excellence in Assessment Leadership (IDEAL) is a professional development opportunity for faculty members to improve student learning and document program effectiveness. This also provides a platform for the faculty to interact with fellow colleagues to develop new knowledge and skills that bring about a new perfection.
Commenting on the milestone, Dr. M. Rajani, Director, R &D, Bharath University said, “I feel very privileged to have represented the university and country in the USA on such a big scale. ABET is a highly prestigious institution that provides many intellectual platforms like IDEAL, that faculty can benefit from. I thank the University for the opportunity to participate here with fellow colleagues from across the world.”
