Mumbai: UK-based IDM offers a certificate course in Digital Marketing (Cert DigM) an opportunity to obtain an internationally recognised qualification in digital marketing. The institute has collaborated with Direxions, an Indian company providing marketing services.
"It is vital that every marketing professional understands the strategies, tools and applications of digital marketing-and its integration within the wider marketing mix. No marketer is complete these days without an understanding of digital marketing's tactical and strategic contribution to commerce," said Morris about learning the specialisation.
Consumers too are naturally expecting the convenience of digital methods like websites, emails, SMS etc for browsing, being informed, corresponding and purchasing. Due to this trend digital marketing is taking up a significant proportion of marketing spend in most businesses.
Across fifteen modules of the course, students will learn about: digital marketing landscape; search marketing; email marketing; display advertising; affiliate marketing; online PR; emerging digital media; the digital customer; planning and integrating digital campaigns; data management and database applications; principles of website design: customer experience and usability; planning and managing website development; producing great digital creative; regulation, permission and codes of practice and optimising digital marketing.
Assessment will be based on two 4,000-word assignments and two three-hour invigilated examinations. Assignments are undertaken during the course of studies while examinations are held at the end of the programme.
The syllabus has been written and materials developed by more than thirty leading marketing professionals and digital marketing specialists. However, to get this international qualification, professionals will have to shell out a huge sum of Rs95,000.
