India: Global Education Management Systems (GEMS), one of the largest global providers of private education in the K-12 segment, currently managing over 100 schools in countries spread over four continents, has planned for major expansion in India through a network of owned and managed private K-12 schools. GEMS plans to add 40 private schools in the K-12 segment across India, targeting tier-1, tier-2 cities and state capitals.
 
At present, GEMS manages around 10 schools in India spread over multiple locations in the country and the expansion plans will be carried out in the next three years leading up to 50 Schools. Each K-12 school which will be fully equipped to provide world-class education to Indian children. Already 85,000 children in 124 countries are enrolled with GEMS schools.
 
The educational group's ambitious plans for India are being spearheaded by its recently appointed Country Head, Ajey Kumar. Backed by rich experience of working across leading Multinational and Indian companies in various top level capacities, Kumar brings in apt business acumen on board. ''Over the years, GEMS has carved a niche for itself globally, enabling the children to develop to their full potential within a dynamic, innovative and collaborative learning environment. Going forward, not only will we grow the GEMS network in India extensively, but will also play a leadership role in growing and expanding the organized K12 education sector in India so as to enable Indian parents to have access to high quality international standards in education", shared Kumar.
