ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Ltd, a private sector General Insurance company, and the Institute of Insurance and Risk Management (IIRM), an international education and research organisation, signed an MOU introducing a Post Graduate Program in Risk and General Insurance (PG-PRGI).
Addressing media persons, Rajkamal Vempati, Head-Human Resources, ICICI Lombard GIC Ltd, said the eight months full-time course, a first of its kind to be launched focuses on providing a platform to identify the nuture general insurance specialists in the country.
A unique and rigorous course co-designed and delivered by IIRM and ICICI Lombard offers an ideal blend of intensive curriculum with industry contextualisation. On the successful completion of the course students will be placed in various specialized corporate functions with ICICI Lombard.
Vepa Kamesam, Managing Director, IIRM said the PG-PRGI curriculum has been developed and will be delivered jointly by ICICI Lombard and IIRM keeping the business objective of the company in focus.
The course is planned to commence from the first week of June 2012. Graduates and post-graduates from any discipline with minimum 50 per cent of marks who desire to achieve professional status in the field of risk management and general insurance can apply for the course. The selection procedure slated to begin from January-end will comprise a written test followed by a personal interview, Sanjay Datta, Head-Underwriting and Claims, ICICI Lombard GIC Ltd said.
