Institutional approach to learn Thavil and Nadaswaram

Systematic approach to any study would certainly yield good results, besides making one strong in the basics.

In the recent days, getting exponents in Thavil and Nadaswaram for temple functions, marriage and for other functions have become very difficult task.  They are available only on prior booking. Reason, behind such situation is that, only very few the young generations had ventured into that field of art.

In this situation, Bharathiar Palkalaikoodam, in Puducherry offers 3-year Diploma studies in Thavil and Nadaswaram.   Eligibility to join these diploma courses is to have completed class VIII. These 3-year courses are equivalent to 5 years study from outside teachers.

This educational center, Bharathiar Palkalaikoodam is affiliated to Puducherry University and is located in Aryanguppam Village, on Puducherry Cuddalore highway.

V.S.Balamurali, Head of the Music Department, Bharathiar Palkalaikoodam, says, "Youths of these days are more interested in Music".

Pon. Shanmugam, Lecturer in Thavil, says, “ Specialized studies in Thavil is only available in Bharathiar Palkalaikoodam. We provide 4 types of training in this diploma studies.

We follow a systematic curriculum. It is taught as full time (regular) studies. We train our students to become great exponents in this field.

Students from our institute get equipped to conduct mega music event with the training that we provide.
