In a bid to provide opportunities for women from weaker sections, Delhi government is mulling options to link its Gender Resource Centres with employment offering institutions and explore markets for their products.
This was stated by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit who inaugurated mega health camps at New Usmanpur and Shastri Nagar.
She said the government will try to link the Gender Resource Centre, which provides vocational training to women from weaker and vulnerable sections, with employment offering institutions and establishments.
"This will instill confidence in trained women who are generally coming from weaker and other vulnerable sections of the society," she said assuring them that her government will try to explore markets for the products made by them like embroidery items, decorative pieces and others.
She said the GRCs have been established across the capital to accelerate the pace of women empowerment.
