Reserved categories to get quota in engineering colleges in UP

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has ordered immediate implementation of the UP  Admission in Educational Institutions Act, 2006 providing for reservation to SC, ST and OBC candidates in private engineering colleges.

With the implementation of this order, the arrangement of 21 per cent reservation to SCs, 2 per cent to STs and 27 per cent to OBCs in private engineering colleges will come into force in the state, an official release said here today.

The present government takes full care of the interests of the people of Sarvasamaj besides focusing on the education of children belonging to BPL families, the release quoted Maywati as saying.
