Salem: Good scope prevails for those who have completed the company secretaryship courses, Chairman of Southern India Regional Council (SIRC) of Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) Gopalakrishna Hegde said.
Inaugurating oral coaching classes for the company secretaryship course and participating in a career awareness programme at the Thiagarajar Polytechnic College premises here recently, he said over three lakh companies in the country need to appoint company secretaries. But, whereas qualified persons in the country remains very low, he pointed out.
Established under the Ministry of Company Affairs, the ICSI is a statutory body and represents various committees set up by the Central Government.
Syllabus for Company Secretaryship course is framed on par with the international standards.
It equips the persons with skills to take quick decisions independently and advise the board of directors of a company in taking appropriate and timely decisions
