New Year for All Saints girls will begin with loads of entertainment when academics will be confined to library shelves and desktops. It is going to be two weeks of cultural extravaganza and literary celebrations beginning January 2, 2012.
The girls are all busy rehearsing for the chain of events starting with flower shows and kadha prasangam to dancing, singing and group modelling.
But the highlight of the events will be the Miss All Saints occasion on January 4. “We will have three judges coming from outside for the event. There will also be external judges for the dance and skit competitions,” says Bhavya Mohan, vice chairman of the college. The class which wins the most points for the events will be honoured on the college day that falls in March.
Once the sequence of cultural events are over, there will be the literary week competitions starting January 5 — which will include competitions such as story writing, versification, debates and recitation.
“There will also be fun games like Tom, Dick and Harry and dumb charades. We will also have a special intercollegiate quiz programme dedicated to the founder of the college quiz club, Khyrunnisa Madam,” adds Bhavya, who is also the quiz club secretary.
