Doon Public School, Paschim Vihar celebrated its 34annual eve cum prize distribution ceremony. Prof Hukum Singh, Dean (academic) NCERT graced the occasion as chief guest. Manoj Kumar Shokeen, MLA, Mundka, was the special Vedette. The guests of honour were Daljeet Kaur and Prof Krishna Kant Vashistha. Other dignitaries present were chairman and members of managing committee, representatives of Doon Franchisees (from Bhuj and Orissa) and government nominees. Guests were welcomed by school manager N V Sarat Chandran. Chairman of the governing body, M G Vasan, Scientist , Philanthropist and an educationist was also present. School principal Vandana Sachdev spoke about the school's achievements in CBSE. Vidhu Vijayan Biju (Sec & Sr Sec Proctor), Swati Chatterjee (middle proctor) and Suma Jacob (pre-primary proctor) gave a glimpse of various activities taken up by different departments. Govt Girls Sr Sec School No 2, Najafgarh, organised a Sadbhawana rally. School principal Dr Rajni Sharma gave the rally a fabulous start by pronouncing the quotes written on the banners. The rally was flagged off by DDE J B Singh, EO Ashutosh Ghosh and N C Kaushik. The rally proceeded from the school premises under the supervision of school NSS in-charge Yogesh Yadav and Suman Sachdeva along with 40 students covering various parts of Najafgarh and Nawada.
Vidya Bharati School, Surya Nagar, Ghaziabad, celebrated its annual day. School president Dr C Bhansali and General Secretary, Dr Dhanpat Lunia, along with principal Jay Kumar Singh, welcomed Sneh Lata Jain who represented Pradeep Jain, MoS (rural development ), G N Bhatt, special invites, media and parents. Hillwoods Academy, Preet Vihar, celebrated XVI annual sports meet on December 3 in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Arvinder Singh Lovely, Minister of Education , Transport and Sports, Government of Delhi was the chief guest and Zafar Iqbal was the guest of honour . Students of four houses presented the guard of honour. The first copy of the school souvenir 'Expressions - 2011' was released by the chief guest. The guest of honour felicitated the best sports persons of the year to Ojasvi Khandelia, Commonwealth karate championship and Samridhi Puri, national athletic participant. Shreya Tiwari and Sarthak Kohli were conferred with the honour of best athletes of the year. The trophy for the best item (juniors ) went to Japanese drill and best item (seniors) to Self-defence . Shri Madhav Rao Scindia Memorial trophy for the Cock house was bagged by Takshshila house. S P Singh Memorial trophy was given to the school band.
The Venkateshwar Global School, Sec-13 , Rohini, organised its maiden annual inter-school fest 'Accolades' . The event, which saw the participation of 16 schools, included a series of competitions - trendy Seventies (fashion show), Mosaic (collage making), Rhythmic yoga, Classical treat (Indian classical dance), Raagmataaz (Indian classical music), Being Human (board presentation ) and Nukkad Natak. School chairman Rajiv Solanki was the chief guest and Deepti Solanki was the special guest of honour. The panel of judges for various events included Anirudh Pandey, Aparajita Sharma, Hemant Pandey, Zina, Monica Tyagi, Sushma Pandya and Gaurav Pahwa. Mount Abu, Rohini , bagged the overall winners' trophy while runners-up went to Venkateshwar Int'l School, Sec-10 , Dwarka.
Khaitan Public School, Noida, organised a dance performance under Virasat series of SPICMACAY. Renowned Manipuri dancers Guru Singhajit Singh (Padmashri) and Charu Saji Mathur accompanied by their team gave a captivating performance. The artists started their performance with Shiv Puja followed by Vasant Raasleela. The drum dance and self-composed Arjun Chitragadha dance sequence left the audience entranced. The artists culminated their workshop by performing dhol dance. School principal S L Gupta welcomed the guests and complimented the dancers and accompanists.
St John's School, Faridabad, celebrated its annual award ceremony. Amneet P Kumar, IAS Administrator, HUDA, Faridabad inaugurated the function along with Ravi Singla, Joint Commissioner , Ballabgarh by lamp lighting. School director Joseph John, Sonia Joseph and principals of St John's Group of Schools were welcomed. School principal Rita Mattoo presented the annual report. School magazine 'Arpan' was released by school director. Students who excelled in class X and XII CBSE were awarded. Academic achievers of 2010-11 from class-VI-XI were honoured by merit citation and certificates . The trophy for best house and runner-up was won by Shivaji and Tagore house respectively. Best athlete of the year was bagged by Shashikant and Prachi More. The event ended with vote of thanks by school vice-principal . Under the aegis of SPICMACAY, renowned Kathak dancer Pt Deepak Maharaj performed in the auditorium of Bal Bharati Public School, Noida on December 2. School principal Asha Prabhakar, headmistress, along with the staff and students appreciated his performance. He was accompanied by Pt Jaikishan Maharaj (Tabla), Sri Waris (Sarangi) and Sri Santosh Sinha (Harmonium).
