Minister for higher education and technical education, Laxmikant Sharma, has emphasised the need for professional education and skill enhancement for the development of tribals. Sharma expressed his views during the seminar 'Tribal development in the context of Madhya Pradesh' concluded in the city on Sunday.
Madhya Pradesh Scheduled Tribes Commission and Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology jointly organised the two-day seminar in which the minister said the government decided to open engineering colleges in tribal-dominated Jhabua and Shahdol districts as part of it.
The participants of the seminar discussed priorities and strategies for the development of tribal areas. The state government has decided to construct memorials of tribal martyrs and revolutionaries at their birth places.
