The Punjab government today decided to increase the number of annual casual leave from 10 to 15 for 13,500 teachers working under the Sarv Sikhya Abhyaan (SSA) and Rashtriya Maadhmik Sikhya Abhyaan(RMSA).
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting between representatives of SSA and RMSA and Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal here, an official release said.
The representatives apprised the Chief Minister about problems faced by the teachers due to what they said less number of casual leaves. Badal, therefore, had decided to enhance the casual leaves from 10 to 15, the release said.
