The applicants set to appear in next week's Teachers Eligibility Test today staged demonstrations at several places in Bihar to vent their ire against delay in distribution of admit cards, official sources said.
The protesting applicants shouted slogans against the authorities in Katihar, Saran, Buxar and Khagaria districts against inordinate delay in distibution of the admit cards ahead of the TET slated to be held on December 20-21 next, the sources said.
In Katihar, a large group of TET applicants raised slogans against the state government at the Islamia high School against minmanagement in distribution of the admit cards in front of the Minorities Welfare Minister Shahid Ali Khan, who was on a visit to the place for an official programme, they said.
In Saran district, the enraged applicants ransacked the Governments' girl high school premises at Chapra for the second day in running after they failed to receive their admit cards for TET even after standing in queque for hours.
Meanwhile, the State Educational Training and Research Council (SETRC) Director Hasan Waris has claimed that the distribution of the admit cards for the TET was going on smoothly. All arrangements have been made to conduct a free and fair examination for TET throughout the state in which over 25 lakh candidates will take part, he said.
Waris also said that the schedule for their distribution could be extended if all candidates failed to receive the paper by December 16 next. With a section of candidates protesting against rejection of their applicantions, the HRD Minister P.K. Shahi said that such applicants will also be given opportunity to appear in the TET in another examination to be held in January next year.
