Employment agency cheats students

A criminal case has been registered against a Delhi-based employment agency for allegedly swindling over Rs two crore from students on the pretext of providing them jobs, police said.
 
The agency, based in Okhla, allegedly procured Rs 50,000 to Rs one lakh each from over 200 students promising them placement in multinational companies.
 
Most of the students belonged to engineering colleges in Ghaziabad, Hapur, Modinagar, Loni and Pilakhuwa, said officials, adding the company even issued fake offer letters to these candidates.
 
A criminal case of fraud was registered against the company last evening following a complaint lodged by a group of students at Vijay Nagar police station here, they said.
