In a relief to teachers working in primary and junior high schools under the Basic Shiksha Parishad, the Uttar Pradesh government has approved a policy that would ease the process of inter-district transfer on choice.
Earlier, this facility was available in specific cases on request, but was practically difficult to implement due to staff shortage. However, with appointment of over 72,000 teachers proposed by this month, the problem is likely to be sorted out, an official release said.
In the transfer policy, priority will be given to lady teachers after marriage, the release said, adding that the decision will help in improving academic atmosphere of the schools.
However, teachers desiring for transfer need to apply by December this year, after which their requests will not be entertained, it said.
