Punjab Governor lauds role of Sainik school

Punjab Governor Shivraj Patil lauded the role of Sainik School Kapurthala for producing more than 750 distinguished officers for Armed forces for the past five decades.
 
Presiding over the Golden Jubilee Annual day celebrations of the school here, the Governor said the School had bagged the coveted Defence Minister's trophy for nine times including seven times in succession for sending maximum cadets to National Defence Accademy (NDA).
 
He said alumni of the school have risen to senior ranks like Lt General and Generals in the defence forces and brought laurels to their outstanding achievements.
 
Appreciating the performance of the cadets and sincere efforts put in by the staff and the management of the School for imparting an excellent training to them, Patil said it was a momentous occasion for all the Saikapians settled across the globe as their alma matter has completed five decades of its glorious existence and dedicated service to the nation and is marching steadily in its pursuit of excellence.
