The young generation must hone their skills and put to use their talent to use in the research activity, Chairman of AP State Council of Higher Education P. Jayaprakash Rao said while inaugurating a workshop on X-ray diffraction in Andhra University on Tuesday.
Importance of research in science and technology has increased after globalisation and the youth must rise to the occasion, Prof. Jayaprakash Rao said.
Andhra University Rector P.V.G.D. Prasada Reddy pointed out the new advances made in research in science and engineering areas during the last decade and more. He expressed his happiness over the new facility being established at Andhra University.
Principal of AU College of Science and Technology V. Veeraiah said projects worth Rs. 6 crore were being established at the university. Registrar in-charge K. Samrajya Lakshmi, Coordinator of DST-PURSE programme and others spoke. Principals of campus colleges were present. The Advanced Analytical Laboratory of AU, established the DST-PURSE programme organised the workshop in which 15 Assistant Professors and research scholars participated. It consisted of lectures and demonstration on X-ray diffraction to provide up to date information and hands-on experience in X-ray diffraction.
