An interactive session cum seminar on ‘technology in education’ was organised by ILEAD at its Topsia Campus. The seminar revolved around bringing technology inside the classroom to aid faster and wider learning of the student.
It also talked about upgrading and modernising the education industry in India and using technology in education that can transform the entire learning process.
The entire session comprised of intellectual and informative presentations by the trainers of ILEAD followed by the Q and A sessions.
The teachers from several spheres took active participation in the event. Usha Mehta, founder principal and director of BDM International and principal director of Indus Valley World School approved of the idea of technology being mingled with education.
“It is surely beneficial for the students but you cannot entirely depend upon the technology. The teaching process and the quality of a teacher are still important,” added Usha.
She also approved the idea of digital technology saying that movies and video clips are apt methods of teaching as kids pick it up more quickly. Divya Kanal, education development manager- XSEED of iDiscovery also came up with similar ideology, “Technology is a fantastic tool but it cannot be a stand alone. We want meaningful teaching and with the help of technology we can surely do great.”
The session also emphasised on honing soft skills of the students and the teachers along with their general attributes. It talked about self discovery and the attitude to fight all odds.
Well explained by real examples, the presentation on soft skills development, by Pradip Chopra, the chairman of ILEAD was valued by the audience. “We should help our students find their right path and work towards their passion. With the help of soft skills training we can not only groom our students for their better future but also prepare them to fight all odds through lateral thinking.”
The session had teams from Educomp, iDiscovery, NIIT, Laqzya, Technoaid, ICC, Glodyne as well as the management heads, principals and faculties of top schools and colleges in Kolkata.
