DU sensitises students to hazards of smoking

With an aim to sensitise students to the hazards of smoking, Delhi University opened a 10-day exhibition, featuring best posters from different colleges.

The exhibition, inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Dinesh Singh, is part of the university's anti-smoking campaign to make its campus smoke-free.
 
The exhibition has been organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS) programme which asked colleges to organise poster making exhibitions on the theme of smoking. The participating colleges then shortlisted the best three posters which have been collectively displayed at the exhibition.
 
Delhi University was declared a smoke-free campus in 2008 and campaigns have been regularly launched since then to sensitise students.
 
More activities like workshops on the quit smoking theme are in the offing, the University said.
