For schoolchildren, it is that time of the year again to display their creativity and imagination and play with colours as The Hindu Young World Painting Competition is back.
The competition, in its 22nd year and an integral part of The Hindu NIE programme, is open for students in two categories — junior (classes IV to VII) and seniors (classes VIII to X).
Topics
The topics for juniors are: favourite game, visit to a village, break time at school and favourite festival, while the topics for seniors are:favourite landmark, a holiday, wildlife safari and underwater.
Children have to draw the painting on a white sheet (size 26 cm X 27 cm) choosing any one of the four topics. The works have to be attested by principal or art teacher and children must mention their name, age, class, school, residential address and contact number.
Last date
The entries must be sent to The Regional General Manager (Circulation), The Hindu, 19 and 21, Bhagwan Mahaveer Road (Infantry Road), Bangalore 560001 by November 22.
The selected students will be intimated individually and they must come with the intimation letter at their own cost to the venue of the finals on November 27. The topics for the finals will be given at the venue.
